NKASIOBI's Shopping List:

20 Looks Our Buyers Love For Vacation Wear

In many ways, this resort season is a bit different: vibrant colors & prints, the importance of utilitarian pieces, color-blocking made a splash, and tropical nostalgia emerged as an inspiration for each designer. This certainly influenced how our buyers here at NKASIOBI have been shopping. The looks that we’re absolutely obsessed with from Resort season include two-piece everyday sets, long tropical printed kaftans, along with functional and classic styles that are lightweight and easy to wear during a nice getaway or for a special occasion.

Discover all the looks we wanted to buy from Resort 2023 season in the gallery below:

Deveaux

Deveaux NYC is all about everyday, functional pieces that don't just stand out but are exceptional add-ons to what’s already in a person's wardrobe. Utilitarianism is the main factor in Deveaux's Resort collection, however, they upped the whimsy pieces with full skirts, evening dresses with a sporty vibe, and some slung-over-the-shoulder details on their signature silhouettes. We love the creativity and nuance that Deveaux is giving in this collection as it doesn’t need to fit in a particular season but can transcend from season to season.

Chufy

The signature style of Chufy is to mix and match prints and layering easy-breezy pants sets. Coming into Resort 2023, they did not disappoint. Made with recycled fabrics, the designer of the brand, Sofia Sachez de Betak was inspired by the nomadic lifestyle but interpreted it into an elevated element. Shimmering knit kaftans and vibrant cotton poplin dresses were designed to make women's lives easier as they shop. Each style exudes a jet-setting lifestyle but still has a sense of ease and comfortability to it.

PH5

Recognized for the hemlines and compact knit dresses, PH5 started thinking of ways to evolve their signatures. Made with responsible materials - mainly recycled viscose and nylon - the clothes were designed with a functional interpretation of their abstract and sculptural vision. We believe every woman should have the signature pieces and re-imagine them in many different ways and uses them to refresh their wardrobe. PH5 certainly has that element of reinterpretation and artistic value for a shopper to style in many different ways.

Victor Glemaud

Understanding the shape of the body, engineering clean lines, and mimicking the curves of a woman are design ideals for Victor Glemaud’s Resort collection, adding complex color combinations of red, blue, pink, white, and yellow on a vertical stripe color-blocking design. We see the experimentation of Glemaud’s construction with long-sleeved dresses, open-back cutouts, and flirty dresses. All knitted in a comfortable power knit mesh that is perfect for a playful excursion while on vacation!

Johanna Ortiz

The Johanna Ortiz brand instantly screams a tropical getaway with palm embellishments, organic patterns in earth tones, “raffia” trimmings, and tribal embellishments that include appliqués, beading, and embroidery. For Resort, each design celebrates the vibe of being dressed up - tunics worn as minidresses but look amazing paired with pants or cover-ups worn as dresses to elevate the style. Everything Johanna Ortiz designs convey a relaxed, sand-between-your-toes mood but still includes stunning party pieces that pop!
